Frequently Asked Questions

We’re here to help

Here are some of the most commonly asked questions about SIGMA Integration.

What does SIGMA Integration do?

SIGMA Integration helps manufacturers design, build, install, and automate processing and packaging lines. Projects can range from updating an existing control panel to design and installation of complete production lines.

What is equipment integration?

Equipment integration involves connecting two or more pieces of equipment to communicate alongside each other during production. Integration projects can range from basic machine communication and line controls to fully automated systems with centralized controls, safety systems, and control logic.

Do you integrate both new and used equipment?
Yes. Projects may incorporate new equipment, used equipment, existing customer equipment, or a combination of all three, depending on the most efficient route for your needs.
Can you work with equipment we already own?
Yes. Existing equipment can often be incorporated into an integration project if it meets the requirements of your application. During the scoping process, our team evaluates what equipment should remain, what may need modifications, and what may need to be replaced or added.
How can I start a conversation to learn more about SIGMA Integration?

Book a meeting and provide any available project documentation, product information, production goals, capacity requirements, and application details. A clearly defined project matrix helps our team understand the scope of work, determine the next steps, and develop an accurate quote.

How long does it take to receive a quote?
Common packaging line budgetary estimates can often be provided during the initial scoping call. The next step is a feasibility study, which typically takes up to two weeks, depending on project complexity. A final quote requires completion of the feasibility study and finalized product samples representative of your production line. Once those items have been received, final quotes are typically provided within two weeks.
What if we need our quote faster?
SIGMA Integration offers engineering retainer services that may help accelerate your project evaluation, planning, and quote development.
What retainer services do you offer?
Retainer services include design support, applications engineering, project management, controls integration, and operational performance analysis, depending on your project needs.
What should you expect as a part of the integration quoting process?
Every project follows a series of milestones that begin with scoping and feasibility discussions. From there, your project may include engineering, controls development, equipment modifications, installation, startup, and testing depending on the scope of work.
What determines project lead times?
Project lead times are influenced by several factors, including project scope, engineering requirements, equipment availability, and OEM change parts. We’ll review your project requirements upfront and provide a timeline based on your specific application.
How much installation support do you provide?
Installation services are tailored to the needs of each project. Support ranges from startup assistance and training to mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure-related project coordination.
Can SIGMA Integration help improve an existing production line?
Yes. Not every project requires a completely new line. Through operational performance analysis, SIGMA Integration evaluates existing production systems to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Depending on the application, solutions may involve equipment modifications, controls upgrades, line reconfiguration, or other changes designed to improve throughput, efficiency, and return on investment.
What happens during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)?
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) provides an opportunity to verify that equipment and systems perform according to the project specifications before shipment and installation. Testing may include equipment operation, controls functionality, and other project requirements outlined during the design and implementation process.
Are financing options available?
While SIGMA Integration is not a financing provider, we can connect our customers with financing resources that have experience supporting equipment and integration projects.
What warranty coverage is provided?

Warranty coverage depends on the equipment and scope of work. New equipment is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. For used or refurbished equipment supplied by SIGMA Equipment, warranty coverage applies to eligible parts, components, and workmanship as defined in the project agreement. Any applicable system performance warranties will also be outlined in the final quote.
